Blue and Grave Digger's excellent adventure

Blue and Grave Digger's Excellent Adventure
by Michael, Vicki, Rachel, Andre, Julianna, Joey, LaTosha, Ku, and Jeanette

There once was a dog named Blue who liked to wrestle and roll around on his belly.  He loved to smell flowers, and sometimes he sleeps on my bed and dreams about monster trucks.
When Blue goes to sleep, a blue fairy named Bluebell turns Blue into a stuffed dog but only at night. That is how the blue fairy's magic works.
When Blue woke up, he was a real dog because the magic wore off. Blue woke up hungry so I fed him. I made him pancakes, French toast, hash browns, pizza, and hamburgers. I also gave him coffee because he was thirsty and that was all I had to drink.
After brunch, Blue went outside and saw his friend Grave Digger, who is a monster truck. Together they built a time machine. They used a flux capacitor, a hammer, tires, screwdriver, and a saw. It took 2 hours and 30 minutes to build the time machine. Once it was built, they painted it pink. They climbed into the time machine and started pushing buttons. The time machine started spinning fast. Blue and Grave Digger got dizzy and threw up, because they ate too much food.
They climbed out of the time machine and discovered the date was Tuesday October 22, 2025. They knew this because they saw a billboard with the date on it and an advertisement about a Monster Jam, which is a monster truck race. They decided to enter the race.
Joey, who was the announcer of the race announced all the racers. The racers were Blue and Grave Digger, La Tosha and Andre, Juliana and Michael, Vicky and Rachel. Joey announced, "All racers to the starting line." All the racers lined up. Joey said, "Get ready, get set, Go!" The racers started revving up their engines. La Tosha and Andre were in the lead. Vicky and Rachel were in second. Blue and Grave Digger were in third and Juliana and Michael were in fourth. Blue and Grave Digger passed up Vicky and Rachel at the first turn.
The racers were going down into the tunnel. Grave Digger and Blue stopped the race because they wanted to give La Tosha and Andre a bigger head start. The tunnel was very very long and had bright lights. Suddenly, the lights went out. It was completely dark. Two cars crashed into La Tosha and Andre's car! One car belonged to Juliana and Michael, the other was Vicky and Rachel. Due to the crash, Grave Digger and Blue were the first out of the tunnel. They came out fast! They went around the rest of the track and they won the race! The other racers had to be towed away.
Grave Digger and Blue took a victory lap. They were high-fiving their fans when all of a sudden, Grave Digger caught on fire, causing a lot of smoke. The blue fairy quickly turned Blue into a stuffed animal. Grave Digger crashed into another car and blew up. There was white stuffing all over the place. Joey cried over the loss of his favorite racers.
It started to rain all over the place. The rain extinguished the fire. Everyone was sad about Blue and Grave Digger, including Jeanette and Ku. Then Ku had a great idea. Ku said, "Let's jump into the time machine and go back in time and save Grave Digger and Blue.
They went back in time and discovered somebody messed with Grave Digger's engine. Julianna thought it was Jeanette. Jeanette was really just fixing Grave Digger's engine. Jeanette discovered cotton candy all over the engine. She cleaned it up and got Grave Digger running again.
Everyone got back into the time machine and went back in time to right before Grave Digger blew up.
This time when Blue and Grave Digger were giving high fives Grave Digger did not catch on fire. Joey was glad and happy to see that Blue and Grave Digger did not blow up again, and so was everyone else.

Special Olympics is Worth the Fight!!

The President has proposed cuting billions from the federal education budget and reducing services for students and schools. Now, it's Congress's turn to make decisions about how much money to invest in education in FY 2020, and advocates must speak out.
Please join our Life Skills Self-Advocacy class in telling Congress why it’s important to you that they fully fund the programs that provide students and educators with the supports and resources they need and use this action alert to help us increase funding for special education services, student support and academic enrichment programs, grants for teachers, and special education research.

Job Training at Kmart

We are excited to be acquiring retail work skills in our job preparation class at Kmart. So far we have been learning about:

  • organizing clothes by size
  • folding T-shirts
  • go-backs (returning merchandise back to store shelves)

Sarah says she likes folding the jeans and T-shirts. "It is my favorite place to go!"

Joey likes working at Kmart because "it's fun to sort clothes".
