Life Skills Dinner Dance 2018

Last week Life Skills students and families danced the night away with our favorite songs. We enjoyed a wonderful taco bar and cake for dessert.

Darlene's Farewell Party

     Last week, we had to say good-bye to our dear friend, Darlene. She moved to Redding to live closer to her sister and brother-in-law.

    

This is what we will miss about Darlene:

Courtney - she plays jokes on me and we laugh together

Alexis - TED talks, laughing out loud from A to Z, and learning about Ed Roberts

Carlos - going bowling

Alicia - she was always silly and made us laugh

Dayana - trips to the Dollar Tree

David O. - going to school with her

Juliana - being in Tablets class and playing Kahoot

Jose - telling jokes

Rachele - being with her in Travel Training class

Amy - her great sense of humor and laugh

Michael - working at the police station

Erica - making healthy snacks together

Monique - playing cards during team building

Kat - Darlene's independence by riding her scooter home from bowling instead of taking the bus

End of Year Celebration!

Today was our End of Year Party! We had lunch with our family and friends and then shared what we learned during the school year.

Monique: I learned how to do the Colorfy app on the tablet. 

Vicky: I practiced typing on the computer.
Tyler: I practiced taking the BART in Travel Training class.
Courtney: I learned how to make smoothies in the blender in Healthy Snack Making class.
Jessica: I learned how to paint a mug in Arts and Crafts. 

Steve-O: I learned how to blog on my own time.
Patrick: I liked learning how to write about my feelings in Journaling class.
Jake: I learned how to do laundry in Home Care.
Nick: Relationship and Communication class helped me come out of my shell some.
Ulyssis: I learned how to do a job at the Police Station.
Chris: In Book Club, we read a story about an Eskimo.
Jamie: I learned a new game in Card Games.
Erica: I learned how to make dates with cream cheese in Healthy Snacks.
